Winners of ITV’s That Dog Can Dance, Lucy Heath and her dog Indie, will take the lead at Crufts 2013 by opening the world famous dog event’s very own four-legged talent contest.
The winners of the ITV show will kick off the Kennel Club’s Crufts Factor competition on Saturday 9th March at the NEC in Birmingham, which will see pet dogs go head to head, demonstrating their individual talents, to win the title of Britain’s most talented dog.
Owners of talented dogs can win a place in the contest, being run by the Kennel Club, by posting a short video clip of their dog’s act onto the Crufts Facebook page. Three finalists will be selected from amongst the most liked entries to perform on the world’s most famous dog stage in front of a panel of judges that will include Lucy Heath and Indie.
One act, Rachel Grylls and her dogs Jessica and Jacob, who were also contestants in the ITV show That Dog Can Dance, has already secured a place in the Crufts Factor final after winning a one-off heat at the Kennel Club’s Discover Dogs event in London.
Lucy Heath said: I am incredibly excited that Indie can perform her winning routine at Crufts, which is just like the Oscars for dogs. We are looking forward to sitting on the judging panel and finding the next big dog talent in this country.
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary said: “We are looking forward to seeing a diverse range of dog talent come through in our Crufts Factor competition. This is a great chance for anybody who has an ordinary dog with an extraordinary talent to show their pet off to the world.”
The Crufts Factor competition will go live on the Crufts Facebook page in January.
