Launch of Rufus Club at Crufts

Three year old Fenella launches the Rufus Club at Crufts today. Fenella from Beltchingley, Surrey helps to look after the family dogs and is launching the new club for fellow young dog lovers under six years old.

The Rufus Club is being launched by the Kennel Club to introduce young members of the family to the wonderful world of dogs and encourage children from an early age to play safely with their dogs. The established Young Kennel Club is then available for youngsters aged from 6 to 24.

Fennella’s mother Linda Barker said: “Fenella loves dogs and she has always been jealous of her older brother James who is in the Young Kennel Club and is able to compete in competitions and go to the Young Kennel Club camp with our dogs. The Rufus Club sounds like a great opportunity to get children interacting safely and sensibly but most importantly having fun with dogs.”

The cost of membership of the Rufus Club is only £8 per year and those joining will receive a welcome letter, free gift, Fetch magazine, poster, stickers and activity sheets, as well an activity and education pack which will be sent after six months’ membership to keep them up to date.
