2. Supporting seven signs of healthy vitality
We want to help dogs live healthy, active and happy lives and so each recipe supports these seven signs of healthy vitality:
3. Keeping your dog in shape
Dogs digest food in half the time it takes humans, so their diet needs to deliver high-quality nutrition quickly.
One thing to look out for when buying dog food is the type of protein used. IAMS recipes contain high-quality animal proteins from fresh chicken, lamb, or fish. Our recipes also contain natural beet pulp fibre and prebiotic FOS to help balance digestion and promote healthy gut bacteria.
With IAMS you will notice less smelly and firmer stools as your pet gains the maximum benefit from their food. Hence less undigested waste.
4. How can you tell if your dog is in good shape?
Simply by looking at the visible signs, after all, you’re the best judge of what’s right for them. With a little practice, you can assess your pet's overall body condition. Try these tips:
Look at your dog from above - they should appear to have a waist just in front of the hips.
Then look at them from the side while they are standing - the abdomen (tummy) should be slightly tucked up.
Finally, with gentle pressure on their sides feel for the ribs - you should be able to feel them, but they shouldn’t protrude.
5. How much should be feeding your dog?
We recommend that you feed your dog twice per day (morning and evening time), dividing the amount recommended on the pack into two equal parts.
