Young Kennel Club goes back to the future

DFS Crufts 2010 is set to be a special celebration for dog lovers of all ages as the Young Kennel Club (YKC) celebrates its jubilee anniversary.

To commemorate 25 years of helping young dog lovers learn new skills, the YKC is hoping to track down original members from its first year in 1985, when it was known as the Kennel Club Junior Organisation, to join new members for a one-off celebration parade at the world’s greatest dog show.

The event will see original members and new gather in the show ring at the NEC from 11th to 14th of March next year, with a celebratory lunch taking place to honour a quarter of a century of the UK’s largest dog related club.

If you were a member of the Kennel Club Junior Organisation in its inaugural year in 1985, contact us on 020 7518 1030 or email and join us next year to help us celebrate 25 years of dog-related fun!

Caroline Kisko, Director of Communications at the Kennel Club, commented: “The Young Kennel Club has touched the lives of many over the last 25 years, and we would love the founding members to join us at DFS Crufts and help us celebrate our anniversary.”
