Norwich Terrier makes it through to Crufts final

Beating thousands of dogs, Paris (Ragus Merry Gentleman), a Norwich Terrier from Selby, North Yorkshire qualified for Sunday night’s final of Crufts after winning Best in Group in the Terrier group earlier in the day.

Paris, aged 15 months, competed for the prestigious title of Best in Show against just six other dogs at the world’s greatest dog show, Crufts at the NEC in Birmingham. Over 21,000 dogs competed over the four days of the show, for the chance to win the most celebrated title in the world of dogs.

Owner, Lesley Crawley and Paris entered the NEC Arena for the highly anticipated Crufts 2012 final. Only seven dogs made it all the way through to the final, which was watched by thousands in the arena and millions more worldwide as it was televised live on More4 and streamed on the official Crufts YouTube Channel -

Proud owner Lesley said: “I’m extremely thrilled. It’s always a pleasure to win like this. He’s such a great showman but he’s also a lovely dog to live with because he’s so optimistic. He takes a joy in living.“

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Communications Director, said: “We were delighted to see Paris chosen as the Best in Group winner. He is such a lovely dog that clearly loves being in the show ring and has a great relationship with his owner. Reaching the Best in Show final at Crufts is a fabulous achievement for any dog.”

Unfortunately Luke was pipped to the post however and beaten by Elizabeth, the Lhasa Apso from Coventry. Nevertheless, both Paris and Lesley clearly enjoyed every second.”
