Ayrshire Dog And Owner Win Crufts Obedience Championship

A dog called Neon and her owner, Linda Rutherford from Kilmarnock, Ayrshire won the Obedience Championship on Saturday 8th March, at the world’s greatest dog show, Crufts.

Neon (Lupitoonz Limelite), a three year old Working Sheepdog, and Linda competed against 21 other bitches and their handlers on the day and took home the coveted award.  This isn’t the first time Linda has won at Crufts as during her 19 year career, she has won three times.

Linda’s illustrious career started with her handsome black German Shepherd Dog, Khan, the first dog Linda had ever trained and Khan took her from Pre Beginners to the heights of Championship Class C and Crufts and she continues to be very successful.

Proud owner, Linda said: “There are no words to describe the feeling. It takes a lot of hardwork and luck. Neon is a once in a lifetime dog but I have had that with all my dogs and I feel very blessed.”

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary said: “Top obedience competitors from all over the world come to showcase their abilities at the world’s biggest and best dog show. Congratulations to Neon and Linda on their fantastic success.”
