Ayrshire Dog And Owner Crowned Winner At Crufts For Third Year Running

Maddie, a seven year old Bearded Collie, and her owner Heather Smith from Troon, Ayrshire won the Heelwork to Music Final for the third year running at the world’s greatest dog show, Crufts. Heather and Maddie (Moonlight Magic Dancer) beat nine other finalists to win the Heelwork to Music Final on Friday 7th March. The pair also won the event at Crufts in 2012 and 2013.

Gerald King, Crufts Chairman said: “One of the highlights of a heelwork to music competitor's career is the opportunity to compete in front of an audience of thousands at Crufts. Each year Crufts hosts the finals of both heelwork to music and freestyle competitions. All advanced level dogs and handlers can qualify for Crufts by entering one or more of a series of qualifying events held throughout the year.

“Congratulations to Maddie and Heather. She is such a lovely dog that clearly loves competing and has a great relationship with her handler. To win once is a wonderful achievement but to win in three consecutive years is an incredible accomplishment.”
