Puppies compete in next generation of Crufts competition
On Friday 7th March at Crufts, the world’s greatest dog show, ten young pedigree dogs from across the country will be visiting the NEC in Birmingham to compete in the Grand Final of the Kennel Gazette Junior Warrant Winner of the Year Competition, one of the highest levels of achievements for young pedigree dogs.
The Kennel Gazette Junior Warrant is a special Kennel Club award, which is aimed at dogs from the dog show world from the ages of 6 to 18 months which have qualified for the title by winning a series of first prizes at both Open and Championship Dog shows over the last year. They then won through to the final by being placed in the semi-finals, which were held last November at the Discover Dogs event in London..
The overall winner will be presented with an award and trophy at Crufts and will be featured in the flagship publication of the Kennel Club, the Kennel Gazette, which keeps readers up to date with all the latest developments within the world of dogs, every month.

Owner: Mrs Marylynne Winder, from Penrith in Cumbria.
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said, “All the candidates for the Junior Warrant Winner of the Year have done extremely well over the year in the preceding competitions. They thoroughly deserve to be competing at this high level and all of the dogs demonstrate the beauty of their particular breed. The gold standard for training of young dogs is set at this competition, and we wish everyone well.”
