Charitable Trust helps launch Pedigree Adoption Drive

by Kat Watts

Neil Morrissey and dogBattersea Park on Sunday morning was filled with the sight of dog walkers, joggers, and a rather unfamiliar sight – Neil Morrissey leading nearly 200 dogs and owners round the park! Pedigree launched their Pedigree Adoption drive campaign at Battersea Park this weekend and Neil, who has an adopted dog himself, was on hand to start the ‘Big Walk’ around Battersea Park.

The Adoption Drive has been set up to raise awareness of the issue of homeless dogs in the UK. For every Pedigree product sold a donation will be made, raising an estimated £500,000 in just 3 months to support the work of re-homing centres and to help abandoned dogs find loving homes.launch of the Pedigree Adoption Drive in Battersea Park

Pedigree has chosen the Kennel Club Charitable Trust (KCCT) to work with in distributing all money raised to dog rescue charities. The KCCT was selected due to its expertise and experience in allocating charitable funds and will distribute through its welfare initiative. The Kennel Club also supports all the administration costs of the Trust, enabling every penny to benefit dogs.

Kennel Club spokesperson, Caroline Kisko, said, “We are really pleased to be on board with this initiative. Neil is a great person to front the campaign and will help us in our aim of promoting the wellbeing of all dogs.”
