Kennel Club wins ‘Special Events Promoter of the Year’ Award for Crufts

The Birmingham based NEC Group recognises Kennel Club show

At the world famous annual Crufts dog show, a few lucky dogs will earn the title ‘Best of Breed’. On 14 December 2007 Crufts itself won the equivalent accolade, being named as Special Events Promoter of the Year by the NEC Group in Birmingham. The Kennel Club works hard to ensure that the event runs smoothly and is well advertised, and the event expanded into The NEC Arena for the first time in its history in 2007.

Phil Mead, Managing Director, Arenas, said: “This has been an outstanding year both for our arenas, and across the whole UK live events sector.  It has been a great pleasure to work with every one of the promoters and organisers who have brought concerts and events to our venues.”

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, welcomed the news as “evidence that, even after nearly one hundred and twenty years, Crufts is still the world’s greatest dog show. Everyone at the Kennel Club is very proud to have won the award, after all the work that goes into making the event what it is.”
