The RKC Hero Dog Award
Our 2026 Hero Dog Winner
Our 2026 RKC Hero Dog Award goes to Asha, an incredible eight‑year‑old Staffie who has completely won the hearts of the nation.
Asha is the loyal best friend of Logan, who lives with cerebral palsy and mitochondrial disease. Logan uses a wheelchair full‑time and needs round‑the‑clock care and Asha is always by his side. She sleeps at the foot of his bed, stays close on the difficult days, and somehow always knows when he’s anxious or unwell. Her gentle presence brings comfort, love, and reassurance into his life.
For Logan and his family, Asha is far more than a pet - she brings stability, companionship, and constant support, helping Logan feel safe, supported, and never alone.

We want to celebrate and share the amazing stories of how dogs give back to us every day of our lives. There is one finalist per category and an overall winner, decided through a public vote, which will be announced in the main arena at Crufts. The winner and the runners up will receive generous donations from The Kennel Club Charitable Trust for their nominated canine charity, to help to make a positive difference for dogs.
Find out more about our amazing previous finalists and winners on our YouTube Channel.
Nominations for the 2027 award will open later this year.
