Watford Agility Star Crowned Winner At Crufts

Quincy, a Border Collie and his owner Matthew Goodliffe from Watford, Northamptonshire (pictured right, photo by onEdition ©) has taken a top prize at Crufts on Thursday 10th March, winning the Kennel Club Novice Cup Agility Final for large dogs.

Quincy and Matthew, a bank trustee, won in the large category after competing in an exciting agility final at the world’s greatest dog show. The top eleven large, eight medium and eight small dogs from the Novice Cup competition (Grades 3, 4 or 5) held at the Kennel Club International Agility Festival (IAF) last August took part in the category finals yesterday at Crufts.

Quincy, who is seven years-old, was trained by Matthew and it was the pairs fourth year at Crufts.

Matthew said of his fantastic achievement: ““We are really happy, we normally do quite well here so this year was on par. Quincy usually does well though; he represents Great Britain and is fairly experienced now.”

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary said: “The Novice Cup is a special event and just to qualify for a Crufts final is a wonderful achievement.

“Many congratulations to Quincy and Matthew for their performance at Crufts, it was brilliant seeing them work as a team to claim the prize within their category.”

Crufts takes place from 10th – 13th March 2016 at the NEC, Birmingham. For more information, please visit www.crufts.org.uk.
