Last chance to enter the World's greatest dog show

exhibitor and dog at CruftsWith the New Year rapidly approaching, time is running out to enter the world’s largest and greatest dog show - DFS Crufts 2010.

Following the RSPCA’s continued campaign against the world of pedigree dog shows, DFS Crufts provides the ideal opportunity to celebrate happy, healthy dogs and the many benefits which the show ring brings to dogs. The Kennel Club would like all responsible and caring dog lovers to take a stand in support of their hobby by making DFS Crufts 2010 the biggest event in the show’s illustrious history.

Eligible dogs that have qualified during the year or that are entered in the Kennel Club Stud Book can enter the show until 8th January 2010 via the post or online at www.dfscrufts.org.uk/crufts-2010-schedule-and-entry-form until 15th January.

Ronnie Irving, Chairman of the Kennel Club, said: “Crufts 2009 was a great celebration of healthy dogs and saw thousands of dog lovers taking a stance against our critics and naysayers by making the Crufts entry one of the biggest on record. Those critics remain as vocal as ever, so we have just as much need as before to get the truth about dog shows out to the wider world. The 2010 television coverage will be a great help as will the internet streaming following on this year’s success.

“But participation in the show ring is one of the most important ways of celebrating and rewarding healthy dogs with good temperaments. It is important that dog owners, breeders and exhibitors who, like me, enjoy dog showing and recognise the important role it can play in the future of pedigree dogs, should take part in Crufts to send the right messages out to the public.

DFS Crufts will take place from 11th – 14th March, and will be televised by More 4.
