Dog lovers are invited to come along to enjoy the experience of seeing nearly 6000 dogs entered in the South Wales Kennel Association Championship Dog Show in Powys.
Over 160 different breeds of pedigree dog will compete from 8th to 10th October for the ultimate ‘Best in Show’ prize and for a chance to take part in the world’s largest dog show, dfs Crufts.
The show is one of 37 General Championship Dog Shows licensed by the Kennel Club throughout the year which enable dogs to qualify for dfs Crufts.
Each day will host different breeds of pedigree dog, which are divided into seven groups. On Friday 8th October, visitors can see the Toy, Hound and Terrier breeds, followed by the Gundog and Utility breeds on Saturday 9th October before the Pastoral and Working breeds round off the show on Sunday 10th October. The seven group winners will then compete for the prestigious Best in Show award at the climax of the show on Sunday. To find out which group your favourite breed is in, please visit www.thekennelclub.org.uk/breedhealth.

South Wales Kennel Association show secretary Bridget Croucher said “This is a great day out for all as we have so much going on. As well as the championship show itself, there will also be lots of trade stands where visitors can find a variety of new products for their canine companions as well as themselves, and there will be plenty of food stalls around to keep the family going all day long.”
All visitors are welcome free of charge and parking is only £3 per car for the day. Strictly no dogs are to be left in cars. For further show information contact Bridget Croucher on 01792 470417
