dfs Crufts Qualifiers come to Ingliston

Dog lovers are invited to come along to enjoy the experience of seeing over 1,500 dogs entered in the Working & Pastoral Breeds Association of Scotland Championship Dog Show at the Royal Highland Showground, Ingliston.

Over 40 different breeds of pedigree dog will compete on 6th and 7th November for the ultimate ‘Best in Show’ prize and for a chance to take part in the world’s largest dog show, dfs Crufts.

The show is one of 37 Group and General Championship Dog Shows licensed by the Kennel Club throughout the year which enable dogs to qualify for dfs Crufts, which takes place from 10th to 13th March 2011.

On Saturday 6th November, visitors can see the Pastoral group being judged, followed by the Working group on Sunday 7th November. The two group winners will then compete for the prestigious Best in Show award at the climax of the show on Sunday. To find out which group your favourite breed is in, please visit www.thekennelclub.org.uk/breedhealth.

Working & Pastoral Breeds Association of Scotland Show Secretary, Sheena Harkins commented: “This is a great day out for all as we have so much going on. As well as the championship show itself, there will also be lots of trade stands where visitors can find a variety of new products and useful information.”

Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for children and OAP’s, and car parking is only £3 per car, making it the perfect day out for the whole family. Visitors are requested to leave their own dogs at home as non-competing dogs are not permitted into the event. Dogs must not be left in cars at the show.

Tickets for dfs Crufts are now on sale at http://www.crufts.org.uk/ticket-office.
