Dog lovers are invited to come along to enjoy the experience of seeing 8,000 dogs entered in the annual East of England Agricultural Society Championship Dog Show at the Showground in Peterborough.
A total of 148 different breeds of pedigree dog will compete from 9th to 11th July. More than eight thousand dogs will be competing for the ultimate ‘Best in Show’ prize and for a chance to take part in the world’s largest dog show, DFS Crufts.
The show is one of 38 General Championship Dog Shows licensed by the Kennel Club throughout the year which enable dogs to qualify for DFS Crufts.
The show takes place as part of the Just Dogs Live event. Now in its second year, Just Dogs Live will also feature the Essex Dog Display Team, who will be captivating the crowds with their action packed dog displays, Laines Shooting School and Mullenscote Gundogs, who will demonstrate a wide range of training methods to use at home or for dogs training for shooting trips, and Canine Partners will be highlighting its work training assistance dogs.
Show Secretary, Carol Williamson said: “The show is a fantastic opportunity for the whole family to discover more about owning a dog, including which breed is best for you, nutrition, welfare and training advice. Plus there will be plenty of trade stands so you can spoil yourself and your doggy companion with lots of treats, so come along and have a fun day.”
The show promises to be an interesting and entertaining weekend for all. Admission is £5 for adults, £4 for Senior Citizens and £3 for children 16 and under.
