Border collie and owner win the Heelwork to Music Freestyle Final for the second year running at Crufts

Katie, a five year old Border Collie, and Sue Betteridge from Smisby, Derbyshire have won the Heelwork to Music Freestyle Final for the second year running at the world’s greatest dog show, Crufts and went on to compete in the final of the International Freestyle Competition on Saturday 9th March  at Crufts.

Sue and Katie won the Heelwork to Music Freestyle Final beating nine other finalists in the main arena at Crufts on Thursday 7th March and came sixth in the International Freestyle Competition on Saturday.

Sue has been competing in heelwork to music for over ten years and also won the winner of the Heelwork to Music Freestyle Final at Crufts last year.

Proud owner Sue said: “I’m really delighted and to win two consecutive years at Crufts is absolutely amazing. I’m so proud of my little Collie.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has supported and helped me since I started heelwork to music.”

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary said: “Congratulations to Katie and Sue. She is such a lovely dog that clearly loves competing and has a great relationship with her handler. To win once is a wonderful achievement but to win two consecutive years is an incredible accomplishment.”

Crufts took place from 7 - 10 March 2013 at the NEC, Birmingham. For more information visit www.crufts.org.uk.
