Border Collie and owner win Agility Championship for Medium Dogs at Crufts

Jazzy, a nine year old Border Collie and owner Sian Illingworth from Shirley, near Croydon, have won one of the country’s most prestigious agility competitions after triumphing in the Kennel Club Agility Championships at Crufts, the world’s greatest dog show.

Sian and Jazzy won in the medium sized dog category for the first time at Crufts after competing against 14 other finalists in both jumping and agility.

Large, medium and small dogs and their handlers which had won an Agility Certificate at a Championship Show in 2012 took part in the Kennel Club Agility Championships.

Sian and Jazzy have competed in a variety of agility competitions in the seven years they have been competing, including the European and World Agility Championships and the Kennel Club Olympia Agility Stakes.

Proud owner Sian said: “I was completely speechless as this is the first time we’ve ever won a final at Crufts. It was a great feeling to win. I was completely gobsmacked.”
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: “The Agility Championships are the most prestigious of all the agility competitions at Crufts.

“The championships this year were of a very high standard and it was a hotly contested final. We would like to congratulate Jazzy and Sian.  She is such a lovely dog that clearly loves competing and has a great relationship with her handler.”

Crufts took place from 7 - 10 March 2013 at the NEC, Birmingham. For more information visit www.crufts.org.uk.
